Exciting High School Hockey action! Welcome to the KHSHL!

SEMIFINALS SET; DUNBAR AND HENRY CLAY ADVANCE; LEXINGTON CATHOLIC AND TRINITY AWAIT

The KHSHL playoffs got under way Thursday in Lexington and in game one, Henry Clay got two goals from senior Bryce Cotton, his brother Ben made 18 saves and allowed just one goal, and the defending state champs made it through to the semifinals with a 3-1 win over Lafayette. The other HC tally was by Ecton Green.  Lafayette netminder Bret Baker made 26 saves, and the Generals goal was scored by Lee Douthat.  This sets up a semifinal Saturday between Henry Clay, the defending State Champions, and this year's regular season champions, the undefeated Trinity Shamrocks.

In the second semifinal, it was all Dunbar as they blanked Oldham County, 5-0.  Two goals by Andrew Bryson, and one each by Drew Phillips, Trey Williams and Eric Short, were more than enough for netminder Austin Holmes who stopped a penalty shot and a breakaway in the third period to preserve a shutout.  Oldham goalie Nick Nuss stopped 17 shots himself, including a pair of breakaways,  but Dunbar had too much firepower, and will take on #2 seed Lexington Catholic in the second semifinal on Saturday.

Games are at 1:15 and 5:45 on Saturday. Final is Sunday at 5:45.
